Not a rare book but this one is hard cover in good condition. If you've never read it and you like an action novel with intelligent character studies give it a go. If you read it years ago, it will be rewarding to read it again.
The book is still in print after 60 years so it's a superb story.
The story of the men aboard a Royal Navy corvette, and later after its sinking, a frigate in the depths of the Atlantic War 1942 with the tensions as well as strong friendships between officers making a tale that makes for gripping and satisfying read.
review: "The best 2nd World War novel I've read. I felt to be living through those years, sharing all the experiences described – whether at sea on a corvette and then a frigate or on land. Masterly character studies throughout".
